Hey guys, I'm using the MS-DOS Mode Super Easy by PhilsComputerLab in my Windows 98 SE machine (ECS P4VMM2 v8.1/Pentium 4 2.8A/1GB DDR-266/ATI 9600 XT/Sound Blaster Live! CT4780), and I'm having issues with keyboard and mouse in some games like: Duke Nukem 3D, SimCity 2000 SE and others. I'm using a USB mouse/Keyboard and it works, but if I hold some keys for a certain time, it repeats the pressed keys and make things unplayable. In Duke Nukem 3D this issue makes the mouse to rotate and it moves by its own. Stunts game works just fine with USB keyboard. The PS/2 keyboard port in my motherboard doesn't work at all "tried to make it work with a PS/2 Microsoft Internet Keyboard and only the NumLock light works", the PC post says there's no keyboard connected. Can you help me to fix this? Thanks in advance!

A keyboard is a keyboard. There's really not much you can do about that, except maybe look for a BIOS update – or get a different keyboard.

yes some ATX motherboards do not support ps2 keyboard or mouse in true DOS, the BIOS must support DOS mode KB and mouse.
One way to check is if the mouse and keyboard both work in the BIOS, but some board still have issues under DOS.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

The BIOS is already updated to the last version. I'll try another PS/2 keyboard soon. Thanks for your help!

The point with the PS/2 keyboard is that it doesn't work at all, not even in the BIOS. The PS/2 mouse port seems to work, but have issues in Duke Nukem 3D, as mentioned - and PS/2 mouse and USB keyboard/mouse works just fine in Windows 98 SE. Maybe it's a PS/2 keyboard port faulty. Thanks for your help!

I think you mean USB. It's rather unthinkable that a motherboard wouldn't support a PS/2 keyboard in DOS.
