Hello everyone !

I'm new here after lurking for many years getting answers I need from time to time.

Due to a personal pet project I have had a chance to test and use a great deal of productivity and utilities on DOSBox. For some programs I have found viable workarounds as well. I even found a way to get "New Deal Office" to run on the stock Debian and Ubuntu installations of DOSBox.

How should I submit what I learned to the lists ?

Lawrence.

you have better luck with Dosbox-X forum, because bare Dosbox (forever and ever version 0.74 pun intended) is only officially for games. But you are welcome to post your findings here, and it is a good thing that someone is experimenting with other stuff that can run in Dosbox.

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.

You can just create an account on the site and add stuff to it ?

I've actually had a ton of luck with productivity tools to the point where I am actually using them again on a regular basis.

Yes, I am sharply aware that DOSBox was never intended for non-gaming, and I have zero expectation that the community will make provisions for non-gaming software that does not enhance gaming support.

In fact, for some major productivity packages, it is downright excellent as it is.

I should also mention:

In my not-exactly-sane experimentation with productivity apps I also got the following very old CP/M-80 games for the Kaypro II/2/4 series to work in DOSBox. I am wrapping up final testing and am willing to write a simple step-by-step guide to get each one working in DOSBox. As of now the games Ladder and Zork I,II and III are working and the config program for Ladder works as well.
