And XTIDE universal IDE BIOS for using large drives in old computers. And you can even put a minimalist DOS in rom, but there are many limitations in the open source implementation. I have not get into commercial ROM-DOS.

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.

How does the hard drive thing work? Does it sense the hard drives on the motherboard and allow the larger size cause it loads it instead of the system bios?

Yeah, I was actually just wondering about a dos os on rom 🤣.

It installs itself after the system BIOS has loaded, and takes control of int 13h for hard drives.

I really fight the urge to necropost this CGA game thread. Well it is time to modify additional motherboard scavenged 32pin Flash EEPROMs to 28pin to use them with my LAN cards. And start to experiment.
