I just got my SC-55, it is connected with the 15 pin joystick port.

It works in windows with the default win95 media player with mid files.

However doesn't work in windows when playing a DOS game like Duke3d.

It does work when I start in DOS and play duke 3d.

(When I choose sound canvas or general midi in duke setup while using windows, no sound comes out)

External MIDI port is chosen in the multimedia properties of the control panel.

I've tried it with nothing added to the autoexec.bat for midi and with this line:

SET MIDI=SYNTH:2 MAP:G MODE:1

Same results both ways.

Using the SB32 CT3670 with these drivers:

Thoughts?

IIRC, for AWE32/64 cards, there is a checkbox in the AWE Control Panel which determines whether MIDI is routed to the on-board wavetable or to an external MIDI device.

Not sure if that program is included in Phil's driver pack, but a standalone installer is available here. Once installed, click on "Device" and check/uncheck the "Allow MPU-401 emulation on this device" option and see if that changes things.

For anyone that has this problem in the future. Confirmed fixed it. 👍
