Hello everyone!

I am currently rocking a Monster Sound MX400 PCI sound card on my win98se retro gaming machine. I've installed the official drivers from Diamond and everything works fine, except EAX nor A3D are not working. Here are my system's specs:
-Pentium 3 933mhz installed on an i815 motherboard
-Matrox G400 32mb AGP
-Diamond MX400 sound card
-IDE to SD card adapter (\w 16gb Sandisk SD)
-Chipset, graphics, sound drivers installed (latest versions)
-Directx 7 installed
-Windows98se

I have attempted to enable EAX and A3D on a number of titles with little luck: slave zero, half-life, Drakan, Rune: not getting any reverb effects or any resembling resembling EAX or A3D. Slavezero (which was bundled with the MX400 BTW) fails to detect sound hardware acceleration altogether. This is bizarre considering that the MX400 is advertised as having EAX support. Note that EAX works without issues on my YMF744 sound card.

Could someone please give me some pointers as to how I can solve this problem? I have swapped the sound card to different PCI slots, reinstalled win98 and the drivers with little luck. Everything works flawlessly on this sound card except for EAX/A3D.

Any help would be appreciated!
