Greetings,

I downloaded a bios/driver package for this card from another thread on Vogons, and also found other forums where people used this bios. Until I used this bios, the card would hang for a long tome during boot. However, it would eventually boot and Windows 98 would see the card for what it is.

Now it boots much faster, though the bios removes RAID functionality. However, windows now sees it as a "PCI card." NONE of the drivers will work. I can still use the drive as I am booting to windows with the card, but now I have a splat under device manager.

It is a minor inconvenience, though there is no telling if performance would be better with a driver that is recognized bythe system. It seems that the 3.4.0.0 (and a 3.something.or.other that I found and tried) broke something that communicates with windows what card it is.

I forgot to back up the original bios, and I can't find it anywhere, so I may be stuck with the situation, unless anyone knows of anything I can try!

Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the card also sucks up a few k from 640k, just for being in the system, as there are no DOS based drivers. This is very strange. As I will be using an SD card with a pure DOS install, and an AWE32 (and eventually an AWE64 Legacy,) I bought a Promise ATA133 card and I am hoping for better outcomes.
