I was working on my T5200 yesterday and had to turn it off and on again. It now won't boot. As soon as it's turned on it throws a PIT error and won't continue to boot.
With @IanB's patched Award 5.30 BIOS it gives this error:
PIT ERROR
READ DATA = FFH
WRITE DATA = 55H
With the original BIOS (I can't remember the version) it hangs before anything is displayed.
The service manual shows the programmable interval timer is provided by a "super integration" IC T4758A which seems to be a custom IC unique to the T5200. I'm hoping it's not a failed T4758A. Does anyone have any suggestions for anything I can check to isolate the fault?
Thanks,
