I have 2 original Xbox consoles, no controllers. I'm not interested in playing native games (not now anyway). I wish to softmod a unit to install Linux. Can the menus be navigated via anything other then an actual xbox controller? I'd rather not have to buy one, would prefer to use what I have on hand if possible. And I had a copy of Mechassault stowed away somewhere, but I think I must have tossed it. Ordered that today.

Yes I realize I would have to buy or construct an adapter that accepts a male usb cabled device. Got that covered.
