I obtained the nice dual PII workstation recently but it was missing a PSU and I would like to confirm its pinout. First measurements indicate that it has standard ATX but knowing Compaq they might have changed PWRGOOD etc wires.

Photo is illustrative, this model seems quite rare.

Many 3Dfx and Pentium III-S stuff.

Had a hunt about online, but can't find a pinout for this particular supply (Compaq P/Ns seems to be 299310-001 for the original or 299312-001 for the spares / replacement - also seen it referred to as PS2033 & PS-6281-2). They do still seem to be available to purchase online as refurbs. You could try to PM @Callahan who had a complete system back in the day - Re: Bought these (retro) hardware today

Also, even if it is standard ATX pinout or close enough to be workable, I'm not sure the PSU casing is standard ATX layout / sizing. From the pics I've seen online & in Compaq support docs, it looks as if the rear mounting holes (3) are different and it also refers to an 'auxiliary power section' of the PSU.

If you haven't found them already, heres a few good online resources for the Professional Workstation 5100

Support - https://web.archive.org/web/20000707005819/ht … tation5100.html

SoftPAQs - https://web.archive.org/web/20000618210527/ht … s/us/6_196.html

Online Service Guide - https://web.archive.org/web/20000621135508/ht … 5100/index.html

Nothing downloads from any of the above links, so hers a separate resourece for that (mainly docs, but the SoftPAQs can be found easily enough elsewhere)

Downloads - http://www.theflatnet.de/pub/hardware/compaq/pws5100/

EDIT - forgot to add this pic...best one I could find online

The attachment CPQ 299312-001.JPG is no longer available

Thanks for excellent reply and especially the links for various downloads. I found several myself but since they are all down from their original sources it takes special skill to find through archives.
I PM'd Callahan but he had not replied me.

Physical shape of PSU is little thing to worry, I can easily modify ATX PSU casing to fit.

Many 3Dfx and Pentium III-S stuff.
