I was looking for a convenient way of copying files and was wondering if you have any tips on hard drive adapters that take IDE and SATA drives both laptop and desktop. I have some bad experiences using ide to SATA adaptors.

I want to plug it into my modern pc so USB 3 is nice. Usb c is nice but I only have it in my laptop for work. I don't need any fancy functions like cloning and such, just to be able to read just about any hard drive from the same dock to a modern pc running Windows 10 or maybe rather use some Linux dist, maybe Ubuntu.
