I have some laptops with a Quadro FX 2500M and 3500M (G71GLM) which support up to DirectX 9.0c and OpenGL 2.1. I have managed to get DirectX working with Windows 7 drivers but OpenGL refuses to work. This is a GeForce 7000 series based Quadro graphics chip.
Everything works fine in Windows 7 but I'm curious if it's possible to get OpenGL to work in Windows 10? I've had similar issues with Intel graphics drivers losing OpenGL support in Windows 10 if the hardware is too old. I'm guessing that there are some additional driver modifications needed by this newer OS for OpenGL that simply don't exist in the old drivers and this is a common fault when trying to use these older drivers no matter the manufacturer.
Please don't judge me; this is an experiment. Windows 10 runs very sluggish compared to Windows 7 with disk I/O performance tanking for some reason despite it being an Intel SATA interface. I would not recommend this configuration for actual use.
