Hello,

I'm currently trying to restore a very bad conditioned Toshiba T1200XE. I'm in the process of getting the broken PSU to a somehow working state. (Actually I'm asking a nephew since he's an electronics specialist of some kind).
Let me show some pictures of the state of the laptop first:-)

The clearly bad MOSFETS (type 2SJ182) and caps and ...

And now the question. If anyone would have the schematics of this laptops PSU it would be very helpfull! The MOSFETs seem hard to find? Anyone know where to find these?

Thanks,

Andy.

Hello Andy, I know this post is SUPER old but I noticed no one responded. Well I am in the mist of repairing one of these machines and I've learned a great deal about it. The 2SJ182 is a P-Channel MOSFET in a TO-220F package and is challenging sourcing them. However, you can use a "modern" replacement which is way easier to source. The IRF9540N (https://www.infineon.com/part/IRF9540N) is a solid beefy replacement. I would recommend replacing ALL the electrolytic caps ... Be care, Be patient. The board is old and the traces can come off requiring to do precision botch work, which is a bitter sweet experience at best.

If you are still working on this system feel free to reach out ...

Cheers,
