Hello guys.

This thread is for people who want an opinion before they buy second hand/new computer parts, regarding the price mostly.

First post: I found this motherboard for 20$ (25$ with shipping). It says it is in an impeccable condition. It is for building a 775 retro computer. Also, the seller says it can only take single core CPUs. Is this a good deal? https://www.olx.ro/d/oferta/placa-de-baza-asu … html#0b537a93af

Seems like an ok deal, if it works. Just be aware that posting stuff before you buy is a good way for lurkers to snipe a good deal from you..

According the the product page, it can only support Celeron D and Pentium 4 CPUs, both of which are single core.

It is a better idea to just post the item you are looking at without posting a link to the sale listing.

good idea. regarding that mobo, I believe it is a good deal for an old school pc with pentium IV, overclocked. I saw 6 ram slots and though I found a gem.

from the photos those six slots looked a bit odd to me, and from googling it shows... 2 DDR2 slots and 4 DDR slots.
I doubt you can use both of them at the same time, though haven't looked further into it.

edit : Yes, the manual states...

To prevent damage to the motherboard, do not use DDR and DDR2 memory simultaneously.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.
