Hello there!
Just from the musician point (Midi in/out), not just for games, is it a bad idea? I read all kinda threads, but still haven't found working solution.
I have some ESS solo1 or Yamaha or the other cards which have some FM on it, but problem with drivers I think. Drivers most of the time only up to XP max!
Any success for anybody?
To summarize: I'm choosing motherboard for 1155 socket and thinking if I need PCI slot for that purpose or not. My existing Dell doesn't have any PCI, only PCI-E. No other PCI cards I actually need in Windows 10 on i7 machine.

No drivers.

If you need MIDI, either use a good USB adapter or you could also use a Creative card with either an external hub or a 5.25" bay hub that has MIDI.

There are also other cards that provide MIDI in/out.
