Hi guys. I have a Compaq V710 CRT monitor that I want to use with a Deskpro 2000. Trouble is, the CRT is unusually dim. I opened it up and had a look at the flyback transformer for the usual "SCREEN" and "FOCUS" potentiometers - and found two potentiometers with only one label "FOCUS" in between them. The top pot is designated 1 and the bottom one 2. Turning either of them changes the screen's focus making it sharp or blurry....

Is there any other way to adjust the flyback's screen setting to increase the brightness?

I read that digital monitors with on screen menus sometimes have a "service menu" that lets you bump up "base brightness" but I couldn't find anything specific to this monitor. I tried different key combinations to no avail...

Any help is greatly appreciated.
