Matrox G450 driver not recognizing the video card

I bought one of these Matrox F7003-0301 Rev.A G450 cards from aliexpress.

I installed the card and the Matrox driver setup won't recognize the video card for some reason... I'm installing it in a Compaq Deskpro EN which has an integrated GPU that I've disabled. I'm using Windows 98 SE.
I previously had a Trident 9440-1 installed in the PCI slot that worked well.

I tried both versions of the driver from phils computer lab that support the G450 (682 and 683).

Any ideas on what to try?

Edit: I've also tried manually updating from the generic driver windows installed by pointing to the matrox driver folder and it doesn't change the driver.

It's been a long time since I've done this sort of thing, so thought that's what I was doing, but you're right, it worked perfectly when I went to "Display list of all the drivers in a specific location" navigated to the folder with the driver and selected the G450 DualHead PCI from the list.

Idk why auto detection isn’t working. Prob the card has a unrecognized HW ID

Might be able to flash it to a recognized card?
