Hi Folks,

So for a while I've been looking for a stick on pouch, so I can put a file card or similar with critical setup and config details on the inside cover of a system case. I thought I had seen some intended to stick on file cabinets when the little card window thing wasn't enough, but damned if I could find them locally.

Anyhoo, what I've come across are some UPS document pouches, and I remember they are damn tenacious on cardboard, and hard to get off, but don't know exactly if they'd be super nasty to get off the inside of a PC case. Would they peel paint or anything do you think??? I think I had one stuck to a monitor way back when it came shrinkwrapped, with document pouch stuck right to the side of it. Although it took some pulling, it seemed to come clean off the ABS (?) on that.

So it's hard to think of something that will stay very firmly attached and not maybe fall off and jam itself in the CPU fan, but also not make a gloopy mess or ruin surfaces if pulled off. I am regretting using masking tape, white or green on stuff in the past, and leaving it on, goes hard, the tape comes off but the adhesive needs work, scraping etc. Or it just curls up and falls off on it's own. I have also had white or yellow electrical insulating tape, which I've used for labels with a marker turn into a gloopy mess that falls off but leaves nasty residue. (WTF happened to insulating tape? I can't trust it any more, tape a wire up, intended use and it's a sticky mess sliding off in a couple of years, how is this passing electrical safety tests??? )

Well if you've got any horror stories about what not to use, or photos of damage that UPS type document holders might have done to stuff other than boxes/card then please let me know, thanks.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
