hi guys
I want to replace the stock cooler on my GPU. I cleaned it complete however the bearings are worn out and making not a noise sound / noise. plus Im making a completely silent DOS machine 🤣.
this is the card : https://www.vgamuseum.info/media/k2/items/cac … b257cffa_XL.jpg
I can see the heatsink is not attached to the board through traditional means like modern cards these days eg with bolts. Seeing the HSF is so light, I assume they used some thermal glue ?
Anyone removed these from the card ? my plan would be to heat it up with something like a hairdryer and then gently pry it off or twist ... thoughts?
2nd part is finding a replacement HSF , I think this should do the job:

assuming I can remove it relatively easily, do I use similar product to put the new HSF on ?

lastly, I want to also replace the HSF on the P233MMX , its like an annoying buzzing bee , cant blame it being nearly 30 years old though.
the cpu is 5cmx5cm , I can either use same HSF as for the video card or something like this:

and again, use thermal glue to put on.
thanks in advance for any for inputs / thoughts .
