Hello,

I have this old beauty around the house. I have attached a SLIP cable to COM1, so now I have Internet! But then the mouse is not available (because the mouse is serial). The "BIOS" (Compaq setup) identifies two serial ports: COM1 (which is the DB9 available from the back of the computer) and COM2/modem... which is the internal "expansion" slot. So I was guessing that... with a bit of luck, the expansion slot is just a COM2 with a board expansion connector instead of a DB9.

Then, the questions are:
Has anybody played with it?
Does anybody have a specification of the pinout of the internal expansion port?
Any other idea?

Regards,
Javi

Javi-

Have you gotten anywhere on this yet? From the manual, I found that the modem connector is also a comm port if you put in the comm expansion board. logically I would guess that the connector is a standard serial port. I plan to do some testing in the next week or two and see if i can identify Tx, Rx, and voltage. I have the modem but not the serial board.
