In the latest DOS version of UniVBE (6.7), the readme states that it works with the TNT2 chipset, but it doesn't detect the only TNT2 card I own - a Diamond Viper V770. I tried flashing it with a reference BIOS (tried the standard TNT2, Pro, and Ultra BIOSes) and this made no difference.

I've tried UniVBE with a couple of TNT2 M64 cards, both AGP and PCI, but no luck, so I'm wondering if anyone has a TNT2 based card that is detected by UniVBE?

Yes these cards have VBE 3.0 support built in but UniVBE is still useful in some situations - the DOS version of MEKA for example still benefits from UniVBE running.

Thanks!

The reason why UniVBE 6.7 doesn't detect all of the TNT2 cards is due to having different PCI Device IDs and support is restricted to the Ultra variant out of the box. Benefits of using it on nVidia cards are for proper 15bpp and low resolution VESA video modes such 400x300 and 512x384.

Also, wbc made a patch that makes UniVBE to work on early GeForce and every TNT2 cards: NVPatch - making UniVBE work on NVidia cards

Thanks for the explanation and for directing me to the patch 👍
