Hy,
I build a ALR Pentium 60mhz s4 pc with gus max, awe32 not pnp.
I connect gus line out (not speaker out) to awe32's line in (not mic in)
When i listen sound from gus max, it's distorted over awe32. When i connect gus max directly to amplifier, then sound is clear.
I try with more awe32, all of them distort gus's sound.
How can i fix it?

Likely, the AWE32 is overdriven. Try to lower the volume of the GUS, either by lowering the volume of the AWE32 line input, or the GUS master volume.
