I got ahold of an apple multiple scan 720 CRT that I want to connect to a PC with VGA.

First I am a little confused about the connectors.

VGA seems to be called HD-15 or de-15 I need a male on that end. Going into the pc.

Then I want a female da-15 on the other end.

Please correct me if I'm wrong because it seems that the apple connector is also called db15 by some.. or even dsub..

It does not seem to be too easy to find a ready made adapter in Europe in stores. So I suppose I have to buy something on eBay (deep sigh).

So when I'm browsing I see that some adapters have dip switches... What is going on here? Do they deactivate some pins..?
