Re: Help with Prince of Persia and MT-32?

Setting ps1audio=off appears to work around the problem. With the default of ps1audio=auto, ykhwong's build identifies the machine model as a PS/1 through INT 15/C0, and for some reason PoP will not use the MPU in that circumstance. Actually, having the machine identify itself as a PS/1 when using …

Re: Help with Prince of Persia and MT-32?

The munt emulation, either built in or as a midi device needs the mt32 ROMs Yep, I've definitely got those in place, which is why the other games seem to work with the emulated MT-32 just fine. For the real device make sure that you select the correct midi port for the usbmidi device. You get that …

Re: Help with Prince of Persia and MT-32?

Do you usethe setup program? It reads as if you are doing everything else (commandline parameters, mucking with files) but notthat you set the game up correctly to begin with. Yep, I went through the setup program first and have tried it multiple times just to make sure it was set correctly. When I …

alt+arrowkeys disabling keyboard sometimes

When using the programs Aciddraw and TheDraw (both ansi drawing programs), you use alt+arrow keys to change the foreground and background colors you want to use. When doing this, it makes the keyboard stop responding, but using a mouse still works. Both alt keys produce the same results. Holding alt …

Re: Using a real MT-32 with DOSBox

I just did a clean install of DOSBox and Stellar 7 seems to work now (so old that I had dosbox.ini in a config dir). Anyhow, I also checked dosbox.conf and found nothing about intelligent mode being on or off. Is this something I can just add the conf and it'll toggle that mode? Also, there are some …

Re: No DATE & TIME commands support

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm having a time/date issue with some old software now. It probably doesn't matter much, but older BBS software such as the one I'm testing (Renegade v04-05 I think) will not load and drops to the prompt saying "Please enter a time and date." There's a newer …

Re: Using a real MT-32 with DOSBox

Through Windows, you go to "Sounds and Audio Devices" from control panel. Then choose the "audio" tab and you'll see a list of playback and recording options. Under "MIDI music playback" you can choose your MIDI port that's on your soundcard. For example, with my SBLive, I have the option of …

Re: 2003-8-8 Release

I'm the one that recorded the mp3. 😀 Anyhow, I just got an MPU-IPC today and I'm still getting that sound out of Stunts (using it with a dedicated DOS comp), but it doesn't do that through DOSbox. Kind of annoying..

Re: 2003-8-8 Release

In the Stunts mp3 you've, that high pitched sound at the beginning that lasts throughout the intro half of the song isn't supposed to be there. I think it's just a bug with using an SB16 and the MT-32 (what I recorded it with) instead of a true MPU-401 with MT-32. If you play Stunts through DOSbox …
