Audigy 1's awful, why not have an Audigy 2? That's like Creative's best PCI card ever. Good luck finding a good model of those though as Creative likes to water down and sell out crappy models after the release of a newer inferior product

well for one thing, a 6800 is an entire generation ahead - an equivelant would be radeon x600-850. They also have massive heat issues. Nvidia doesn't really have an equivelant card for the 9800 because their own GeforceFX series, which was supposed to be that card's competitor, was slower than their …

i'd say the Radeon. I had bad BSOD experiences with the Geforce family on 9x (particularily when it doesn't even set the video mode properly to display a standard text-mode bsod, leading me to a permanent black screen)

really slow? i'm having happy times playing quake2 on 486 😀 can't play ff7 though because ff7config uses a tls instruction to get cpu speed and because of that it crashes (wcpuid, cpuz and dxdiag also crash for doing that)
