My Win98se machine is a Soyo socket 478 ISA with 1gb ram and a P4 2.67 ghz processor. I've modified the system.ini file so Win98 only sees 768mb of ram but I've never seen the NDIS problem. I don't think you should have problems with the waveblaster, my SCC-1 seems to "ignore" the sysex commands for the MT32. As for the 1st gen MT32's, I understand that they can lock up if the sysex commands are sent too fast, but I've never had that happen on mine so I'm guessing mine isn't a 1st gen …

I believe that standard game ports have problems with games that tries to use sysex messages to remap the MT32's sounds. Not sure how many games do that but most Sierra games do and they are also ones that use the LCD too. I'm not sure either if the games will fail if they try to send the sysex …

As an alternative to QEMM or EMM386 you can try freeware JEMM: http://www.japheth.de/Jemm.html A nice feature is that it can be loaded and unloaded from the command line unlike QEMM and EMM386

My guess is most sellers really have no idea if it's 1A, I have a SCC-1 that I bought brand new way back when and looking had no idea what model mine was, The box just says SCC-1 but looking at the bar code it says SCC-1B. What's the difference between the 1, 1A and 1B?
