is there anyway to manually input the cd test result and bypass this part of the load? as with the new install it still crashes at the cd speed section

it still freezes at cd speed test but that seems to have fixed the sound problem

here is the dxdiag report for my machine, it is not a brillinatly fast macine as it is a laptop but its quite good as laptops go. (i think)

ok using mount d e:\-t cdrom it has a set of illegal commands for e:sound\sndstart, ufoexe\black. intro. ufoexe\black. ufoexe\geoscape. sound\sndend.

just habbit keeping the drive letters the same as to not confuse myself

This is what i put in to dos box and what happens when i tell it to run terror. It runs in win95 compatability mode but at an incredible speed even on 5 sec timing. I have tried increasing the number of cycles and changing to dynamic cpu core but dos box still crashes (at pic 2)when "terror" is run …

the game is in c:\mps\tftd\ the cd drive is a matshita dvd-ram uj-820s I hope this is what you need

im new to the whole dos box concept too, but following the help on this thread has helped a lot but i cannot get past the cd speed test, dos box crashes there. can you help?
