An easy way to restore your mouse without restarting the X server in linux is to open a terminal or cycle to an already running one, launch again dosbox (after killing the one that froze) and run a program/game that uses the mouse. The mouse will then come back to its normal state. 😀

You can create the missing dosbox.conf by using the command "conf -writeconf dosbox.conf" inside the dosbox. If you exit dosbox and look at the directory you where when you run dosbox, you will see the dosbox.conf file.

Try running "loadfix -32" before trying to start the game. You can give any number you want instead of 32 but make sure that it is lower than 100.

The only permission problem I can think of in winxp would be if you would try to play the games directly from a cdrom or a write protected folder. You can select all the files of the games, select properties and unselect write protect checkbox.

mee these files seems to be SFX archives. I don't know if they are zip,rar or ace SFX archives but what I do know for these files is that you just have to double click them in windows, choose the path where you want them to unpack the files and click on the ok button.

Unfortunately I found the game on only one site and it gave me exactly the same error message 😠 . The error message comes from dosbox not the game (I get it at the linux terminal). After about 30 lines of the same error message dosbox hangs and I have to run "kill -9 dosbox" to get it killed.
