Re: WordPerfect

Too bad the copy /b option doesn't appear to work within DOSBox. Then you could attempt to send a binary printer file directly to a printer connected to a parallel port. You don't have to use /b in dosbox. It seems to treat all files as binaries. However I don't know if a "copy file lpt1:" or …

Re: Does the linux version do text conversion?

First of all I don't think it has anything to do with linux. It would be better if you tried dosbox in windows so you can compare the results. Secondly dosbox, unlike the real dos, handles all files as binaries (correct my if I'm wrong) so no text convertion is being done on the files. However there …

Re: King's Quest VI

That is really strange. When I start dosbox and run "mem" I get that I have 637Kb of free conventional memory. Than means that only 3Kb of the conventional memory is being used! Most of the dos games need about 580-600Kb of conventional memory to run and as they aren't used to seeing that much free …

Re: Game Wizard

There was another program that also allowed you to cheat games. It was called elixir of life (eol) and it was quite nice. However it used the scroll lock key for some functions and I don't think that dosbox passes that keypress to the programs. Does it? I think I have it in one of my old cds. I'll …

Re: Bug-Report: Panzer General 1

By trying cvs code you agree to test code that isn't even supposed to compile successfuly... Even if the devs of dosbox do their best as far as I've seen to keep their code in the best possible condition, many bugs get fixed in cvs but also some may be added by mistake ;) If you want a reply for …

Re: I have a problem!!!!!

The only permission problem I can think of in winxp would be if you would try to play the games directly from a cdrom or a write protected folder. You can select all the files of the games, select properties and unselect write protect checkbox.

Re: 32 bit mode

mee these files seems to be SFX archives. I don't know if they are zip,rar or ace SFX archives but what I do know for these files is that you just have to double click them in windows, choose the path where you want them to unpack the files and click on the ok button.

Re: Bloodmoney

Unfortunately I found the game on only one site and it gave me exactly the same error message 😠 . The error message comes from dosbox not the game (I get it at the linux terminal). After about 30 lines of the same error message dosbox hangs and I have to run "kill -9 dosbox" to get it killed.

Re: Bloodmoney

Thanks for your replies! The amiga version may be much better but it can't beat the sensation of being young once again, playing one of the games that I saw on a PC for the first time :) . I remember myself playing this game on my cousin's PC (I still had my CPC 6128 that time), a mere 286 but with …

Bloodmoney

First of all I want to thank you for all the effort you put in helping people run old games on newer systems and especially at the OS of their choice ;) . Keep up the good work! I tried to run a rather old game (1989) named Bloodmoney but it doesn't work. I get the image that appears before the game …
