Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

Hi everyone. OK, so I was running v0.7 of VDos32 already, but just to give it a try I changed back to v0.6d, and there's not the slightest difference I can see: picture's fine, sound is fine, FMVs and BG sound work great, when they're supposed to with both versions (and I confirm that I have none of …

Re: TR1 FMVs in Glidos 1.38

I guess we probably shouldn't be going on about this here, as it's really not Glidos related, but since we've already started... I just wanted to make it clear that my "letter" (which is unfinished and full of typos) is not intended as a review or anything, really (I've nothing of a critic), it's …

Re: TR1 FMVs in Glidos 1.38

Funny you should ask: A couple of weeks ago I started writing a kind of list of my thoughts on the game. I originally intended to address it to the TR teams at Eidos and Crystal Dynamics -including Toby Gard himself, no less!-, but I got over that: on second thoughts it did seem a bit vain. I might …

Re: TR1 FMVs in Glidos 1.38

Hi there. I've been playing Anniversary these past few weeks, so I've only just installed version 1.38 of Glidos (with version 0.7 of VDos32). I haven't noticed any seam in the middle of the FMVs screen, though I have noticed that the loose V-shaped chunk to the left of the screen has disappeared - …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

VDos32 v0_6d works great for me too! I've tried TR1 with both regular SB and SB16 settings, and the sound is smooth. I haven't experienced any of the blips mentioned by Rimsky82 in the FMVs. Only at the beginning of the Tutorial does Lara's voice stutter a bit for a second or two (under both SB and …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

I've just noticed another interesting thing when I try running TR1 with Glidos and OpenGL. As I described previously, when I run the program, a black window appears, then goes to full screen, first white then black, then the cursor appears in the middle of the screen and the program freezes (until I …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

And here are the WaveTest results for my computer: 0x00000012, 138 0x00000012, 153 0x00000012, 163 0x00000012, 174 0x00000012, 185 0x00000012, 195 0x00000012, 206 0x00000012, 216 0x00000012, 228 0x00000012, 242 0x00000012, 254 0x00000012, 265 0x00000012, 277 0x00000012, 288 0x00000012, 299 …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

Tonight I tried out Rimsky82's solution, namely I run the TR1 Setup through VDos32 and manually chose the regular SB, and it works for me too, but only with VDos32 v0_6. The sound isn't perfect, in that there remains a regular clicking sound with a slight echoing twist to it (it's hard to describe, …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

The in-game graphics are more than just acceptable with Direct 3D! It's only the FMV videos which are worse under v0_6 since in full screen mode the image stutters disagreeably (not just the sound anymore) whereas they used to run smoothly in windowed-mode. Annoying that v0.6a is worse. That's the …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

For the audio problems, here are another two experimental versions of VDos32. OK, I'm back. Test results: Both versions present the same problem as v0_6a: a black window appears (no full screen, no image, no sound) and the program freezes ("not responding"). At least both Direct3D and OpenGL …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

The graphics problems are to do with psVoodoo. If you could get OpenGL working then you'd be better off, but that would probably require your getting hold of the latest graphics drivers from the web site of the graphics chip manufacturer. What graphics card do you have? Good evening. I've attached …

Re: TR1 with no CD: possible?

Hi! Thanks for the reply! I'll have to ask a friend who knows his way better than me around computers whether he can dig up the file you mention under XP. (BTW, the problem of reformating and reinstalling without a CD drive is indeed a big one! I'll have to try and do it via network also, but I'm …

Re: New versions of Glidos and VDos32

Hi! Sorry, I missed a few threads, I'm just catching up. I downloaded and installed the new versions of Glidos and VDos32 available on the Internet (1.37 and 0.6 respectively) and I note the same thing as the others who've tried it under Vista 32bits: I get the full screen FMVs now and the BG sound …

Re: Sound and Video Delays

Cheers. I'm going to copy that down somewhere for future reference. I was just about to write that I'd just figured out what IMO was, having just seen it in a different context on another forum, when I saw your reply. BTW, I like RTFM best. It's got me laughing out loud in the office (I'm not …

Re: Sound and Video Delays

Oh-oh. You make that sound pretty bad. 2007Jenn, I have a confession to make: I can't figure out what some of the abbreviations you use mean. Care to enlighten me, please? :-) I am having the same sound problems as the OP TR1 is *always* the problem, but it is the best IMO Actually, I really enjoyed …

Re: Sound and Video Delays

Well, 2007Jenn, that's pretty impressive; I liked the smiley hidden in the code towards the bottom particularly. I didn't know you could do that. I'll bookmark the tombraiderforums, it looks like there are quite a few interesting things over there... Good night to all!
