Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

dgVoodoo is downloadable from http://dege.fw.hu now. I will update it with a new version soon, and after it, its developing is going to be suspended for about six months. (New version will only show the actual state of developing, so nothing relevant news.)

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

I've been wanting to upgrade it to XP support and worked on it but I had some problems. I achieved to get TR1 to run under XP, however it all didn't behave as I expected. e.g. when I switched from full screen to the desktop, it remained at the same resolution, or when switched to a full screen dos …

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Maybe I could send it (1.5M), but the 3dfx patch modifies not only the exe file but some others too. So I think simply replacing the exe wouldn't be enough. Also, (I've looked it after) I found that Blood has various versions and I found e.g. the European version cannot be patched. My suggest to you …

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Hi Duffman! Well, I'm confused about Blood a little bit. My first question: does it work with Glidos? If not, I think you may use a wrong version of Blood. I downloaded the Blood Plasma Pak, patched it to v1.11 (as far as I remember) and applied the 3dfx patch to it. This should work. An other idea: …

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Paul, I've downloaded the Hind demo. The problem is that it always crashes my Win98 (not the glide version). Under plain dos it works. I think maybe it is a soundcard problem, but cannot find any setup program. 🙁 Maybe it conflitcs with my emulated soundblaster or something like that. Any idea?

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Thank you very much for the tip! I discovered that RB gets the version through the version-api (and it needs at least 2.43) so I had to put a version resource into the dll, thank you again! Still working on RB, unfortunately nowadays I can spend a very few time on dgVoodoo, mostly at the weekends, …

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Yes Paul, it really seems that the error is in TR1 itself. However I can't imagine that no shadow on a real Voodoo card. Painfully, I've never seen it, never had a Voodoo card. Once I thought I should buy a real one just because of TR... :) :P BTW, I'm working on Red Baron just now. Those black …

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Thanks for the offer of CD, but first I will try to download a demo version from somewhere. Maybe that will be enough for me to work on the game. I'm going to search it now, I hope I'll found it. 😀 I've downloaded the Red Baron 3D demo, but couldn't try it out yet. I'm very curious.

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Yes, you are right. I can imagine what difficult could be a switching to doing something that one never did before or to switch from one architecture to another. Intel architecture is not simple: one day when I read a complete book about it, I got very confused. But luckily, when you look at the …

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Thanks, Paul. It works with Red Baron? I have never tested with it, nor with Hind, I will look what I can do for those games... :) BTW, dgVoodoo wasn't intended to be a strong rival of any existing wrapper, and as for me, it will never be. Programming: in the Dos era, I programmed everything in pure …

Re: dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

OOps... I'm sorry... Of course, I had known and tried Glidos when I began to develop my wrapper (more than one years ago). :sly: To be quite frank, I didn't understand why no any glide wrapper could run Dos programs (except for Glidos). I read everywhere that "Dos has no any 3D graphics library, so …

dgVoodoo 1 announcement thread

Hi everybody! I just want to announce something. I have been working on a glide wrapper called dgVoodoo that can be used for not only Windows but for Dos programs too. The current versions has been available for download for quite a long time... Unfortunately it does not work under Win2k/Xp and is …
