easy, try Commander Keen 4 , jazz jackrabbit and the likes... jazz can be a complete mess and keen can be very jerky... install another vga and see the difference 😀

et4000 also has probs with scrolling. Especially in older games, like Apogee's titles that are ultra-fine for a 386 machine. IMHO you need a 1MB cirus or S3 card, compatibility is more important than some more frames in an ancient benchmark... after all you have a 386, hardly a speed killer 😁

for best compatibility get a Cirus Logic or S3 card. Ati/Tseng can have probs in some games... 🙁

what? no I remember it was ultra smooth on medium and 1024x768... that was a sli setup, maybe 1x voodoo2 was slow indeed

I had the same freeze on some of my win98SE pc's... quitting from win98SE to DOS usually just freeze the computer like in your case F2bnp. I found that removing the cd-rom drivers from autoexec/config solved that issue 101%. Remember that windows does not need any cdrom drivers at all. Just make a …

yeah, just go for a voodoo3 PCI model... unless you don't care about glide/d3d , in which case a Riva128 card is a VERY nice DOS 2D vga.

@F2bnp: I have tried TR1 on a PCX2 , it looks OK (the game has low-res textures after all) but it's framerate sucks on a p200mmx... in the same machine with a voodoo1 is just fluid. PCX2 was like 15-20fps
