I only played a few minutes, but it seems to work fine, as long as I have timed=false. With timed=true, he constantly runs to the right. Sorry, I don't know what else you could try.

If you currently have timed=true in the [joystick] section of the dosbox-0.74-3.conf file, try timed=false.

If the [joystick] section of your .conf file has timed=true, change it to timed=false and see if that helps. If it doesn't help (or you already had timed=false), I'm not sure what else you could try.

You can just copy all the files (and the one folder) to a folder on your hard drive, then just mount that folder as a CD. For example, mount d c:\dosgames\bd13cd -t cdrom

As stated, DOS version only supports 320x200 resolution. You CAN change graphic detail during gameplay. Esc-Configuration-Graphic Detail Make sure slider is all the way to the right.

I don't use a frontend, but I had to remove the line "call checkcd.bat" from oldtime.bat CD (or CD image) still needs to be mounted, though. It contains files that the game needs (even with a "max" install).

I'm curious if you're using a version other than the U.S. version. My U.S. version doesn't use LaserLock. I've had no problems playing it on my Win 7 machine. CD is not even required after install.
