I did more tests, now with DX2 underclocked to 33 and 40 MHz. I updated the spreadsheet . Not much surprises there. As expected, the DX2/33 is close to DX-25. I found what caused Cycles to freeze. It was caused by FreeDOS. I did all the previous testing with PC DOS 2000 but removed the drive and now did the tests with Microdrive containing FreeDOS. Good to know Cycles works with Orpheus. 486DX@25 MHz and disabling L1 cache was enough for CT1330A and CT1600. Maybe I have something different this time. I'll test some more. XTIDE Universal BIOS r611 should fix the problem. Drives supporting LBA48 commands (even if the drive is 128GB or smaller) were affected by the bug.

Are you using AT or 386 build? If you use 386 build, try AT build instead.

You need to disable hard disk from the motherboard bios setup since you want it to be handled by expansion ROM.
