Re: Getting the most out of Dosbox

It's quite likely that the tablet simply can't handle the necessary calculations for this game without having the constant slowdown that comes with it. Mmm, ok then. I though it would have made a difference but, whatever. Try what ADDiCT suggedted tho - I reduced my cycles from 3000 to 500 on my …

Re: Getting the most out of Dosbox

Well, OK then. I still think that a text games like rougelikes shouldn't need full VGA but I'm probably wrong :pppt: . Still give it a go Smothermunchie. If your game still doesn't work though, I really don't know, sorry. Edit: Ahem. I stand corrected: I tried to run ADOM with CGA and it failed. …

Re: Getting the most out of Dosbox

whoops, sorry. Ok, if they're not ientical they are compatible, right? A text mode game should run in both unless the game uses a vga-specific feature which is unlikely. I was just suggesting it because the video card uses lots of CPU time and a VGA card should not be nescessary for a textmode game. …

Re: Getting the most out of Dosbox

Re: Getting the most out of Dosbox

Try turning dosbox machine - vga to dosbox machine - cga If they're text based this will make _no_ difference - vga and cga text modes are identical. Perhaps you might try even lower like MGA or hercules.(it might look a bit different tho ) 😜

Full stretched fullscreen?

When I first started using DOSBox, the fullscreen mode stretched out to fill my whole screen. After a few uses, this behaviour suddenly went away and there does not appear to be any options to get it back. Is there any way to make it strech my screen out again?

Re: No music on Linux

I stumbled upon http://lau.linuxaudio.org/TiMidity-howto.html and got timidity working, but timidity attaches itself to 128:0, while DosBox is looking on 65:0 and 17:0. I tried "aconnect 65:0 128:0" but it throws up: Connection failed (Invalid argument) Is there any option in dosbox.conf to make it …

No music on Linux

I have installed DosBox onto my system and I have Doom running perfectly on it. However, I can't hear the music - I can hear the sounds perfectly but I can't hear the background music. I assume that this is because my nasty onboard soundcard has no MIDI capability at all . Is there anything like …
