Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

One of the features that I really like about D-Fend Reloaded is that you can specify programs to run both before launching the game and after closing it. I use this a lot because I use AutoHotkey scripts to launch (and close) my MT-32 and SC-55 emulators automatically such that it's all done simply …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Greetings Users! I am a first-time poster here on Vogons and I loved D-Fend Reloaded. However, with that being said, it does seem like it has passed the end of its life-cycle and it might be time to move on to new pastures. This morning I decided to put my thinking cap on and start recreating this …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows & Linux)

Hi guys; just looking for some clarification - * ECE no longer has ant's pixel-perfect support, but it can be added? * Does the latest version of DOSBox (0.74-3) have ant's pixel-perfect? * Is r4301 still the latest version of ECE that is the most feature-complete and stable? (presuming it includes …

Re: VIDEO Patch for pixel-perfect scaling (SDL1)

Are there any builds for OSX that has this patch included? It’s awesome on Windows. I am very glad you like it, but don't know of any OS X build with my patch. Currently I see three ways to pixel-perfect display in DOSBox : A pixel shader for pixel-perfect scaling, BladeSk's patch , and My patch. I …

Re: Monkey Island 1&2: Roland MT-32 + Sound Blaster support

in DOS
Why the patches were removed from the original post? No explanations why they were removed either. Copyright issues, I presume. Uh... not quite . I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Suffice to say that the patches will live on , so I'm not really sure what this move accomplished other than …

King's Quest VII - No voice/talking?

I decided to boot up some KQ7 today and during the intro sequence, something struck me as odd, as I seemed to remember hearing Valanice talk at the beginning, saying something like "where am I?" and then something about finding her child. Well, for whatever reason, not only do I not hear a voice , …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

And a new ECE is ready to download: https://dosbox.yesterplay80.net/DOSBox%20ECE%20r4141.7z Awesome, thanks! I have another question - I'm not sure if this is something that's more suited for the ECE thread or otherwise, so let me know if this isn't the right place to ask. I'm using D-Fend Reloaded …

DOSBox vs ScummVM at this point

I've been away from the scene for awhile, but I'm aware that ScummVM has recently updated with greater support for Sierra games and etc. What I'm wondering is, what are the considerations to be made when deciding to use DOSBox or ScummVM for any given game? Why might I prefer one over the other?

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

I have teamed up with pycur to produce a library for D-Fend Reloaded, making DOS-games as accessible as frontends like MAMEUI (arcadegames), Gamebase 64 (Commodore 64) and FS-UAE (Amiga). What it looks like The goal is to build a library of preconfigurations with snapshots. To accomplish this we …
