Got it, thanks for clarifying. That just leaves the question of why later versions of MEGAEM (used with GUS 3.xx boards) work with protected mode games without having to patch or replace their DOS extenders, but AWEUTIL still requires something like DOS32AWE to accomplish the same thing.
