Re: DI's Apache95 on Win7x64

in Windows
Yep - those Common Files are on the Hind CD, for upgrading Apache, but, as you say, it don't work! Thanks for the effort though. I shall investigate further another day.

Re: DI's Apache95 on Win7x64

Got it all now, but sadly it still doesn't work! Must be something fundamental to the code, I guess. Thanks for the assist, but for now I'm setting it aside, it's getting frustrating. I'll fly the Hind...

Re: DI's Apache95 on Win7x64

EDIT: OK, thought I had it working - turns out, 1 of the 3 included campaigns does work, sort of - Yemen will load, but even there the textures are blocky, and the desert seems to have been covered in snow (it's all white). So, I am now confused...

Re: DI's Apache95 on Win7x64

Unfortunately, the full thing is about 70 Mb. I can (and have) received email that size, but I don't have anywhere else to deposit it. EDIT: My installation Zips up to 36 Mb...

Re: DI's Apache95 on Win7x64

in Windows
I have in fact discovered that the Hind CD in Front Line Fighters contains an upgrade to Apache, which does allow Apache to start up in 3Dfx mode!... however, it crashes to desktop as soon as I try and start a mission (in other words, as soon as the 3Dfx graphics are called for). I've tried a dozen …

I don't have the WinXP option (or the money to get it). Can you tell how the installer works (as in, could I copy files to the relevant locations)?

DI's Apache95 on Win7x64

in Windows
Hi From previous experience, I've learned that most of the problems getting old Windows games working in Win7x64 concern the installer, not the actual game. So it seems with DI's old helo sim Apache Longbow. I have the Front Line Fighters collection on CD (Apache, Hind & F16). All install & run …

Subwar 2050 Joystick problem

I've managed to install this via DOSbox 0.74, and it works - albeit a little jerkily, I'll have to work on the framerate. But when I attempt to connect a joystick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro), the cursor heads for the top left of the screen and stays there... I can, after a bit of struggling, activate …

Re: Pandemonium 2 on Win7x64?

in Windows
Nope, didn't notice any difference. Instead of going Stomp Stomp Stomp Stomp it goes StompStompStompStomp - but the voices are fine, in synch with the action, and the actual speed across the ground looks right. Anyway, it's a subject for another thread... Thanks though!

Re: Pandemonium 2 on Win7x64?

in Windows
It seems I've already installed that (the file is already in my download directory), which explains why the game worked  As I suspected, it's all a matter of what order I did things in. ...hmm... says it can run Heavy Gear... EDIT: it can run Heavy Gear, but the animations are all WAY too fast …

Re: Pandemonium 2 on Win7x64?

I know this is thread necromancy, but I thought I'd give it closure - my hard drive died (failed quick DST), and was replaced on warranty by HP. When I reloaded Pandy2 again, it worked straight off with no messing around! SO, like I thought, something was indeed missing last time around...
