The Gateway Performance 1400 case has nice quick release everything it seems like. Drive Bays Side Access Panel Add On Cards Power Supply Pretty Cool.

I think Ive wittled the CRTs down to Gateway VX1120 or VX920. But Im going to get a Viewsonic VX922 first, which has a TN panel, 10ms real response time across the board, 1280x1024 native resolution.

I took the P4 Gateway motherboard out of the Gateway 1400 Performance. Power supply is dated 23 week of 01. So I put in a EPoX MVP3G-M with K6-III 400 cpu with sink and fan. But I cant find where to connect the front panel power switch to the motherboard. There is nothing that matches the pins on …

Cant argue with that. Of course, people on VOGONs, seem to be interested in building old computers and historical aspects of computer technology, video games, OS's, and companies.

So you really dont even need the Key, as long as you have a valid Key from somewhere, anywhere, floating around. Is a retail version of Win 98SE superior to getting an OEM version or vice versa?

Just to make sure, it doesnt matter if the Key has been used before with regards to Windows 98, because there is no online activation anymore. So a new sealed version is not required.

Thanks a bunch. So I dont need to worry about anything but getting the disks with MS DOS. And any Windows 98SE Full Install (not upgrade) with a Key will work, because there is no online activation. The COA is the Key, correct?
