Re: SB16, no MIDI out through gameport

Jo22, thanks for your reply! I have a CT1740 Sound Blaster 16. There is no MPUEN jumper on that card, only a port select (300h or 330h, currently on 330h). I have verified the cabling multiple times... I will try again with the AWE64 to confirm it is working.

SB16, no MIDI out through gameport

I have a PC with an SB16 and a GUS MAX. Everything worked fine until I wanted to try replacing the SB16 with an AWE64. Almost everything worked but I seemed to have an Adlib conflict with my GUS so I settled on the SB16, and Iput that back in. Only now there's no MIDI coming out the gameport to my …

DOS on a 486, ET4000W32i 1MB vs 2MB

Hi! I have a DOS/Win3.1 setup with a 486DX2-66. I was looking for a deal on a ET4000W32i 2MB VLB card but I couldn't find anything at a decent price. IMO, this is pointless and borderline dumb …

Re: BOTTLE necks

This means that even if Windows 7 took 512MB MORE than Windows XP, you'd still have more usable RAM. …

Re: Sb16 trouble

Or simply check in your BIOS if you have the choice to choose which specific HDD you want to boot! If so, find another HDD and install DOS 6.22, and all your DOS programs/games on it. Since DOS 6.22 is FAT only, you'll see only the DOS partitions and have a nice standalone system. On the other HDD, …
