Jo22, thanks for your reply! I have a CT1740 Sound Blaster 16. There is no MPUEN jumper on that card, only a port select (300h or 330h, currently on 330h). I have verified the cabling multiple times... I will try again with the AWE64 to confirm it is working.

But a Gateway 200 is ~1997, its appropriate OS is indeed 95 or 98, installing 2000 on it is pointless, unless you want it to crawl. 16 MB of RAM is under the minimum of 32MB for Windows 2000, and even then you should be at least over the recommended 64MB... Just bought one PC100 64MB stick, my mobo does support setting up the CAS to 2. 😀 Will repost results then. I can't fit any of those CPU as my board is not SS7 (it supports multiplier up to 5.5 and FSB up to 83MHz)

Yes I have 128MB of RAM, I also have only one stick, as I can't get one of my two SDRAM slot working. If I had a 64MB stick I'd get better performance?

I'm trying again, on another hard drive that I preformated in Fat32x, I'll keep you informed 😜 @Tetrium: I'm either on a mac or on linux, so I use dd to write .bin images to my floppy 😜 EDIT: It works, don't ask me why.
