Geforce 3 Ti200 Overclock

I have tested and retested my Geforce 3 Ti 200 several times. But is it normal that these cards overclock so easily and remain stable? Or am I just lucky with this card?

Simply go for a GPU that isn't too heavy on the CPU with drivers. Else you will have some serious performance loss in age appropriate games. Hence anything above or newer then a geforce mx will be a waste of time. Newer games that support T&L are held back severely by the CPU. Personally I would …

Rush or banshee should be avoided in my opinion, same as the Velocity 100. The first is a 2/3d combo but slower then a vd1. 2nd is a single texture voodoo 2 2/3d combo, so slower then a voodoo2, third one is a single texture voodoo3 with less memory. Among of these the Voodoo Banshee is useful …

If you are using a pentium 1 ish system, use a voodoo 1 and play games up to 1997. If you are using a pentium 2 machine up to a p3 500 ish, use a voodoo 2 card. Oh the far better choice on this system is indeed a voodoo2 graphics card. I have a viper 770ultra laying at home too and combined it with the voodoo2 in SLI, in this setup the voodoo cards came close to 70% of the performance of a V770 Ultra on 1024resolution. And some games close to 90%. It's a …

It's not only the speed, I think it is front side bus related too.. If you use a Katmai, It might work on the max 600mhz. The Coppermine is less certain especially if you use a socket cpu instead of the slot1 variant. The copper mine T has a Frontside bus of 133mhz If I recall it correctly. It is …

1369 3DMarks with 3dmark99 default @ 233Mhz (3.5 x 66) Voodoo2 SLI. Anyone who Can do better at default settings I dare ya 😉

Switched the 128MB PC100 @ 66mhz CL3 memory module with a 64MB PC66 CL2 module. Scored a bit higher with the Voodoo 2 12MB SLI, 6% performance increase I recon.

Changed my 233MMX PC memory banks from 2x128MB PC100 CL3 to a single 64MB PC66 CL2. Performance jumped up a nice 18,6% in at least 3Dmark99 Max. Never thought too much memory would have such an performance impact. going from 1150 to 1369 3Dmarks and from 1507 to 1645 CPU 3Dmarks. On a Voodoo2 12MB …

I will try with an extra 64MB tomorrow, so I know if it is the 64mb module CL2 or that 128mb is just too much.

Well, today I received my 64MB CL2 module and ran a test with 3dm99 max. The result was better then I was expecting. 1x 128mb pc100 CL3 gave 1291 3dmarks and 1554 CPU 2x128mb pc100 CL3 gave 1150 3dmarks and 1507 CPU 1x64mb pc66 CL2 gave a whoppin 1369 3dmarks and 1645 CPU Screenshot_20220301-150802_ …

Isn't it that the mainboard autmatically takes over the CL of the memory default settings? It is for sure not possible to tweak memory timings on this mainboard, or anything at all for that matter.

If I had the choice, I wouldn't go anything newer than a TNT2 Ultra or something similar since the processor is a bottleneck. If you want to play games with T&L, you should at least take a P3 or K7 800mhz. I you play games where the CPU is made for, these cards would be the sane choice. If you go …
