Re: MDK help

in Windows
Thank you - one step closer! Updated my DirectX to 9.0c. Tried the US patch version but kept getting the "MDK Executable Version Is Incompatible with MDK CD" error with MDK3DFF.exe. My version is US (3 flags during install). Decided to give the German patch a shot and sure enough, MDK95FF.exe works …

Wow, sorry I missed that info. Thanks akula65, I'll try it when I get home and post back. BTW, love Wallace & Gromit.

MDK help

in Windows
Hey there - could really appreciate some help with MDK on Windows 98SE. To give you some background, it's a Dell Dimension 4400 with SB0060 and GeForce 2 MX. I'm trying to get MDK to work with my Microsoft Force Feedback Pro joystick. I have a legitimate, original MDK CD. I installed it but could …

Re: Rebel Assault I and Windows 98SE

in DOS
Sorry Jorpho - I wasn't thinking this morning and put this under DOS because of the game title...sorry...need more coffee... I'm using a flatscreen with nVidia ForceWare 77.72 drivers. It's weird - the regular desktop and MS-DOS prompt look great, it's just the game itself.

Rebel Assault I and Windows 98SE

in DOS
So I got Rebel Assault I to run from the CD (rebel.exe didn't work so rebel2.exe did the trick). Game seems to run fine except for one thing: the game always starts a little off the screen to the left. Is there any way to modify / improve this?

Re: Sound Blaster SB0060

in PC Emulation
Do you have any info on the sound font stuff? As for the games I listed, running them in Dosbox sounds better than the SB0060 (at least with the drivers I'm currently using). If someone can point me in the right direction to get it sound better, that would be great. It'll have to be Dosbox for now …

Sound Blaster SB0060

in PC Emulation
Hey folks - I'm building my gaming rig (Win98SE) and have this Creative Sound Blaster SB0060 PCI card. My question is this: its seems as though there are multiple drivers available for this card. Any advantages to one over the others? For example, better sound or better SB16 emulation? Or are they …

Re: Sound card help

in PC Emulation
Hmmm, no stereo sounds for Wolf3D with the SB16. Not sure if I like that. Will a SB Pro 2 do stereo for Wolf3D or does it have to be an SB Pro? Maybe I'll pick up an SB 16 for the more modern games and an SB Pro 2 if it'll work in stereo with Wolf3D.

Re: Sound card help

in PC Emulation
Thanks for everyone's help. I've elected to go with the CT2800, as it does have the OPL3 chip. No luck on finding a Roland SCC-1, though. I guess I'll just have to wait on that. Thanks again!

Re: Sound card help

in PC Emulation
Wow, thanks everyone for their quck replies. It sounds like I might get more out of the SB 16 CT2800. Any disadvantages to getting this card over the SB Pro 2.0? Music maybe? Any hanging note issues with the CT2800? Also, can I connect a Roland SCC-1 to the CT2800 to get better sounding music? …

Sound card help

in PC Emulation
Hello all, I've started a legacy gaming PC build, but I need a little guidance. The issue is choosing the right sound card. I currently have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 in there, and although it plays all my games (from Wolf3D to Duke Nukem), I've noticed some issues. E.g. Wolf3D sound will slow down …
