Re: Global dosbox.conf under Linux

Although from a system administration perspective it would be nice to set a global configuration file which could be modified by settings in a local configuration file in the user's HOME directory on multi-user systems. From a packaging point of view, it would be nice for a packager of a …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

No, Qbix needs slapping. I supplied him a patch for parsing /etc as well as $HOME, but it was refused because it did not take into consideration --sysconfdir=DIR read-only single-machine data [PREFIX/etc] from the configure, and working with the gnu autotools gives me a migrane. If anyone knows how …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Ahh! Well, if ordinary users can not write to /usr/bin, who installed /usr/bin/dosbox.exe then? The /usr/bin/dosbox.conf file is the shared, global DOSBox configuration for your system, and should only be created/modifed by root. It is not an error in the frontend, it is an error in the Linux …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Okay, now I have run into another problem. The frontend expects to find a dosbox.conf file in the same directory as the dosbox executable. In what situation do you experience this problem? Click on the DOSBox Versions tab, and select new version. It will not allow me to create a new dosbox version …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Okay, now I have run into another problem. The frontend expects to find a dosbox.conf file in the same directory as the dosbox executable. In linux this is not how it works. Under Linux the executable is located in /usr/bin (which is not writable by a normal user) and the config file is located in $ …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

@Xulchris: Yes, you should download the 64-bit Linux SWT libraries from http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.2.2-200702121330/index.php#swt and put the .so files in the dbgl/lib subdirectory. Please let me know if you can get it to work! Okay, my linux distro already comes with …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Hi, I tried to run the Linux version which is only at 0.50? Anyway, I ran into this error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/chris/dbgl/lib/libswt-pi-gtk-3232.so: /home/chris/dbgl/lib/libswt-pi-gtk-3232.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 I am running 64bit Linux ofcourse. …

Re: Dosbox 0.7 is out!

On the minus hand, neither "Blood" nor "Indycar Racing II" worked. So what? I can wait. Hell of a release, people. You can be proud. What are you talking about? Blood has been tested and shown to work 100% in 0.70. Please visit the games database before concluding a game does not work. Stangely …

Sound in 3 Skulls of Toltecs

I am having problems getting the sound to work in 3 Skulls of Toltecs. I've tried various combinations of sound settings but at most all I get is some static when the animation plays. Has anyone else had similar problems, or know a particular sound setup that enables it to work properly? Thanks in …

Re: DOSBox Full Screen Mode

If that is the case, then it doesn't work here. Using 0x0 does *not* use my desktop resolution, and it places the dosbox offcenter on my screen. Whereas using 1600x1200 works fine and places dosbox in the middle of the screen.

[RFE] Tab Completion

I am thinking about recoding the tab completion part of dosbox to behave more like readline(). By this I mean that pressing TAB will print out a list of available matches, and only completes the match if 1 match is found. Additionally, if the match is a directory, a trailing / will be added to the …
