Volkov Commander 4.05 has never caused me any trouble, and is fully written in assembly. So small and fast.

I first played Half Life from start to end with a Pentium 133 32MB RAM Nvidia Riva TNT Sound Blaster 16, and it was totally playable.

Use Compaq DOS 3.31 it can use large hard drives. Or better yet a MS-DOS 5.0. It is not that of a memory hog. And runs great.

You need an online ups, not a line interactive. Online ups makes it own sinus all the time, line interactive only makes one, when input fails.

Volkov Commander can open directories with spaces. I dont know if Norton also does.

Hey you can use Volkov Commander, it is small, basically only one executable file, and you cand run it from autoexec.bat, and all your games work. Just point and click. It is more memory conservative, and functional, than Norton Commander.

ESS Audiodrive isa, most compatible WAVE, nice FM. Simple minimalist software. Yamaha OPL-SA compatible WAVE, minus Duke Nuken 2 (ADPCM), perfect FM, original software is crap. ISDN modems first! I never knew anybody that owned them when they were a thing. I also moved from 56k crap winmodem to a LAN cable. God i loved my 33k US.Robotics, it was definetly faster then those 56k winmodems.

Well, it was revolutional, ok Windows 3.1x was the start of multimedia, with WinG and Video for Windows and QuickTime, but Win95 and DirectX and Start button revolutionised the PC.
