Back in the day NC 5.0 did a nice litle thing, that it moved and copied files, but files were broken or 0 size. But i really can not remember how. But i have been usin Volkov Commander 4.05 and love it.

Well if you want a modernish standalone video card, then user Nvidia TNT to Radeon 5xxx series. ATI cards have some issues. And Nvidia 6 series and later also started to drop undocumented VGA features. It is just my observation.

Well in fast Pentiums and any Pentum 2/3 the advatage is neglible in 100MB/s mode. But anything older, it really maters.

It does not need extra drivers in DOS and you can even use it with Windows 9x, without drivers. It has its own BIOS. And computer and DOS sees it a just a normal drive controller. Usually only your original MB BIOS has to be configured with first drive active, but with all zeroes. And you have to …

Download a DOS/32 extender pack. http://dos32a.narechk.net/index_en.html Then read the the redme. And just use the tools to replace the executable header. It is pretty easy and straightfoward. It solves many problems, with games that have old DOS4GW extender, and do not like big RAM and fast CPU. …

Replace DOS4GW stub with a DOS/32 header, and usually those errors will go away. But i only use it with pure dos.

Well, about few years allready, i have just destroyed everything beyond repair, anything that i dont need, and does have some kind of pseudo 5-15 Euro/Dollar value, and just dumped it, and i live stress free, hey my time also is worth someting, allso my nerves.

Weitek even lowers performance, because it is memory mapped, and uses UMB area if i am not mistaken, so EMM386 has to circumvent it, and you dont have so mutch that precious under 1MB DOS memory 😵

I know what a Weitek co pro is, but it is totally useless for all your games and allmost all your software. Only specialized software. That thing can not even run x87 based software 🤣
