Usually they required a slot terminator, if you used a socket cpu.

Vortex86 and PC-104 based computers maybe, there are some affordable ones and PC-104 is ISA signal compatible.

Raspberry PI with a optimized Dosbox image, that boots straight to dosbox... maybe someone has already done that. And you can get that retro feeling, use your old TV as a monitor, because that thing has HDMI and Composite video and audio output.

Tandy was 99,9% compatible. No EGA, only CGA. And PC-speaker sound were available.

Strange, I converted and replaced the sound files, but something i am missing, maybe the duke executable knows what files are what format and ignores the headers of sound files... it is only plausable explanation.

Only propiertary system that i have is an Compaq 6000 series 200MMX, and it is just amazing. But all other propertary systems i have sold or thrown away. Oh and one small 486 motherboard is in an small DVD player case.

Yes they did have more charm, more colors, more detail and litle bit diferent approach, first 3d games tried realism, and failed, 2.5d games usually used cartoonish caracters, only one game used realistm, it was Operation Body Count, and was it any good? The motherboard is important, and Nvidia Vesa 3.0 card, all my retro gear has HDD caddies, USB Floppy emulators, ISA cheap ass Yamaha or ESS sound card, it is only depending, DO I WANT TO PLAY DUKE 2....
