Well, according to the guide core temp should show reasonable numbers on OPs CPU during load. That would be about 60C or more in Prime95. Also what CPU temp is reported?

That guide doesn't explain why most AMD chips don't show such illogical below ambient temps. Also CPU temp is always a good few degrees lower than core temp for me.

It's just a temporary fix. The solder on the chip will go bad again and baking the card won't help the life span of all the other components on there.

The PS2 can't do VGA, if you look at its AV pinout it lacks the pins for H-/V-Sync. Only SoG monitors will work with VGA.

Card's a CT4760 from '99. An original Live! card I believe. I haven't noticed that the drivers are actually for CT4780. That is probably some sort of Live! 5.1 from 2000. Could be why those drivers don't work...

Some folks around here don't like that kind of talk you know 😉 But yeah, I'm aware of that solution, images are a bit cumbersome when using CF cards though. At this point I'm really more interested in getting these WDM drivers going to check if it does change anything about EAX.

I installed these drivers now. Again it demanded a bunch of VxD files which aren't even on the Liveware 3 disc this time around. It wants the "Creative WDM Audio Driver Disk". SCB-55 works with all MT-32 supporting games? Yeah, they didn't care much about details back in the day. It's not the fault of Roland marketing either, they always noted that Sound Canvas lacks the MT-32's programmability.
