150W is more than enough for any s370 system or even 775 one - of course you can't really go over board with graphic card. I'd put something s370 1GHz and Geforce 3/4ti.

I might have gotten a ISA/EISA 386/486 combo motherboard... not tested yet, so can't really say I'm on the lookout for EISA graphic card 😀 Would be nice to see some real world performance - 386_junkie? 😉

Newer 8900D BIOS probably won't change much. You can check the jumpers if there are any - maybe for 0 wait state operation. If you'll use CF card, everything will be much more responsive. But than again Trident isn't much of a card for Windows with more than 16 colour modes. You can use DDO software …

What do you mean... isn't huge? It's around 50% faster in 3dbench and around 30% in DOOM. Cachechk is OK. It shows you have 128KB cache working correctly. Now you can populate all the cache sockets with 256kb chips and set the jumpers according to the manual. With 256kb cache and optimized BIOS …

I mean orientation of chips - pin 1. 256kb chip for TAG should be ok. Like I said.... 512KB config is actually 256KB.

Did you correctly installed the chips? That 512KB cache in the manual looks like a typo.

Try running with clean DOS start without any drivers (press F5 at boot). Otherwise my guess is something with memory. Does Speedsys work?

At the moment it looks like it's configured for 128KB cache. Your error message is typical if at least one of cache chips is bad. Do you have more cache chips? For changing BIOS color there are F2 and F3 keys... but this is irrelevant to his problem.

Rest assured I looked around the FTP - in the upper folder there are actually drivers for ARK2000 - they even work to some level. The whole thread is only about ARK1000 and Win 3.1 drivers. I also have the same card as pictured in the 1st post and also can't find working drivers for it. BIOS string is only: ARK Logic GUI Accelerator BIOS Preliminary Version 1.20 - 0217 Ref 00 Already tried the Hercules and Spea ones but they have some checking routine and won't load :( Any workaround …

Jumpers... There is only one set JU11 and I can't find any description. Also they are present on all Mach32/64 cards.
