I can get the program and start the program by typing 'start', an executable file. The program runs and gives a menu that should work. Each item in the menu is also exe files that take one to the family data. When trying any of these file, I get an error. It is obviously not linking to the data

I think I may have been confusing. My old computer runs windows 98 so I can use dos, no problem. The laptop uses vista so there is no dos to run. That is my understanding and why I must set up dosbox.

The disk containing the Roots programme is labelled with 3.2 dos. The version of windows on the old computer is windows 98 SE. The programme pretty well fit on one of the old small floppies.

I am trying to get a genealogy program to work. When I try to execute the programme I get the following message: "illegal function in line 9 of module START at address 0564:00AC" Any ideas?
