Re: Win7 & Space Hulk Vengeance of the Blood Angels

in Windows
Hello aqrit. I assume you're the guy who wrote the original DDRAW wrapper. Thank you a lot for this. Yes, the modified version is necessary by my experience. I tried your original version and several settings with it, but could not get rid of the rainbow colors. With this modified version it worked …

I got the game working finally by following my own advice. (The game works fine on win95 and win98 with directX up to version directx 8.0a) So I installed Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 (45days trial) , installed win98se on the virtual harddrive and copied the game to it. That was it. My win98se comes …

Okay, checked the MS compatibility kit 4.0. Most of the kit seems pretty useless for getting a game to run. But the "compatibility administrator" included with it could be a great help. It holds a large database of programs (including lots of old games) and their corresponding compatibility settings …

You can get some information about the official patches here: RevoltArchive ("Downloads") You'll also find lots of tracks, models, etc. there. With Revolt I use the patch "ognrvp2.zip" (search http://www.gamecopyworld.com/) Fixes the following problems: Command line switch -sli fixes Voodoo SLI …

Hi there MiniMax! Yeah, I tried HULKW95.EXE first (via shortcut starting in C:\) as described in the instructions. HULK.EXE is just another thing I tried since this is the usual splash screen starter. I'll have to see about that compatibility kit. I had guessed it would be the same as the …

Oooookaaaay, without wanting to offend anyone but this forum is as dead as a dead forum, isn't it? I mean, I followed the guidelines, I tried fixing the game myself and described what I had tried, I updated the 'places to start' to give back a little for any help I might receive and I'm certainly …

Nothing really new, just things I felt like mentioning: I tried Freddo's instructions in win98, just for the sake of trying it. But no luck. And I tried compatibility modes. Also I should say that I'm one of the few lucky ones to own a original copy of SHVOTBA, complete with 2nd Multiplayer-CD. ( …

I hate to resurrect an old thread but I've got the same problem that's been described here. I followed the instructions but the new shortcut only makes my screen flash yellow and then gets back to desktop. Starting the HULK.EXE in the root dir of the cd and then clicking 'play' in the splash screen …

Re: no sound in Space Hulk

My spacehulk-folder is 7,5MB. ??? Maybe it's a stripped version but I doubt it since the midis are there and it even comes with a Soundblaster driver. What use would this be? Anyway it's a download and therefor there's no cd. "main sb K E 220 7 1 -1" Could you explain this in more detail? Kolya

Re: no sound in Space Hulk

In the meantime I got Bioforge to work including sound. So it shouldn't be impossible to get sound in Spacehulk too. And I'm quite sure there is sound because there are several midi-files in the SpaceHulk-dir... Any guesses?

no sound in Space Hulk

Hi, I'm trying to get sound running in Space Hulk. The game itself runs fine. I have a PII 350MHz, win98, and a Sound Blaster PCI 64 soundcard. This card offers a Legacy device itself for having sound in DOS-games. I tried of course switching that off. I also checked the BaseAddress, IRQ, DMA. I …
