Re: King's Quest V

in DOS
Yeah my interest was due to trying to get the voices with the better portraits. I concede your point about the speech being dreadful, but as you also said it has a nostalgic value to it due to that being how I first played it back in the day. Either way thanks for letting me know it hasnt been done …

King's Quest V

in DOS
Hi all, I looked around but couldnt find anything on this so thought I would ask. Does anyone know if there has been an attempt by anyone to add the better character portraits from the floppy version back into the CD version? An example is https://youtu.be/5rNGdMHzliM vs https://youtu.be/Jc9c4Mtdpic …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows & Linux)

Thanks for the heads up. Is that likely to change at any point (opengl emulation for either the Voodoo 1 6mb (I believe that card could do (limited) 800x600), or Voodoo 2 for example?) or stay like that for the foreseeable? And please don't take that as a lack of appreciation for current …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows & Linux)

Hi all, Ive been playing around with 3DFX in Dosbox ECE. Ive got it working but I have a question about how to change a certain setting. When I use voodoo=software the window size is able to respect my dosbox windowresolution setting, however not all games are smooth when using this setting. When I …

Hi all. Back in 2013 when the Sierra sound driver hacking was in full swing I made this post Re: Sierra/Dynamix sound driver hacking. Its been awhile so I thought I would drop in and ask if anyone has been interested enough to have a look at it? Thanks!

Re: Scroll problem at The Perfect General 1

Sorry to resurrect this guys but does anyone have a possible solution? I just tried to play The Perfect General and came across the same issue. tikalat: That is absolutely fantastic! Thankyou for taking the time to fix the detection bug in STJR. I noticed that you modified the FED mission files as well as the general DATA files. Re: Monkey Island 1&2: Roland MT-32 + Sound Blaster support

in DOS
Ok, so the spitting you were referring to was Largo spitting on the wall? I do get that one. However I am certain (in my copy at least) that the owner of the Bloody Bar & Grill makes a spitting sound when he spits into the mugs to clean them while using Adlib sound. It doesnt play when using …

@NewRisingSun: I installed your patch and its awesome! However I cant get the spitting sound that the owner of the Bloody Lip Bar & Grill makes. I used your reorder file and the date modified on Monkey2.001 changed so I assume it did something but the effect doesnt work for me.

tikalat: Thanks for the pointer to IPS XP. Stefan_L: Is there a way I can do either of your suggestions using munt via the Daum SVN? I unfortunately dont have a real MT-32 available to me at the moment.

Hi tikalat. Again thankyou for all your hard work on these various sound fixes you have been doing! I tried to use the patch for Blackthorne but in the instructions it says under step 2 "Apply DATA.ips patch to DATA.DAT" however I am a complete noob in this respect and am not sure what I need to do …
