Re: Compiling ogg-winmm error

in Windows
rename /bin/windres to /bin/mingw32-windres or change the makefile to say windres and not mingw32-windres Thanks, I edited the makefile and it compiled!. But then I run into the same issue I had with the pre-compiled one :/ The screen turns white after the title and 3D rage logos appear and the …

You need libvorbisfile-3.dll in the build directory. not sure why you're getting so many warnings, but it should compile if you have that library file. You probably should have it from compiling libvorbis (I didn't bother and just got it from another ogg-winmm build). You should look at the forks …

This forum is for Windows games. This probably belongs in Milliways. Perhaps a mod will be kind enough to move it for you. Well, I am trying to patch a windows game. (Assault Rigs, which my previous thread covered wrapping graphically). I did try to check if this forum section would be appropriate, …

Issues with ogg-winmm wrapper

in Windows
Okay, so as a bit of a foreword: The last time I made a topic and was active on this forum, it was a long time ago. Since then I've actually learned some programming (JAVA and I'm starting C++ soon), so I have a more in-depth appreciation for coding now. I have really tried my best to solve the …

Re: ATI experimentation

Bump. Euan Kirkhope's ATI3DCIF Wrapper 0.001 source has been uploaded, thanks to the author: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=717 Wow, that's cool. How do I use it? I've not really worked with wrappers much before. Is there a tutorial on how to use it? And do I have to use a VM ( …

Re: ATI experimentation

I have added the download link for the files. ATI_ARIGS_DRIVERS (ATI driver disk) The driver disk, I am not sure if it came with Mech Warrrior 2 as well. I am sure that it came with Assault Rigs, though

ATI experimentation

I made this thread so people on this forum will have access to files and info needed to experiment on the ATI3DCIF API. The following link leads to a download of the driver disk that came with the games: http://www.4shared.com/file/oCTOBDiF/ATI_ARIGS_DRIVERS.html (the images are in .uif format) Edit …

Re: Assault Rigs: no music?

in DOS
I did get the error a few times in Virtual PC, but it happened When I took out the disk only. So you took out the disk, and you got an "assault rigs requires a valid CD to run". I do not understand why this is surprising. Rather than D-Fend Reloaded, you may be better off with the 60 Seconds Guide …

Re: Assault Rigs: no music?

If anyone is willing to sell a copy of Assault Rigs ATI 3D RAGE edition I'd be happy to buy. (yes I know there is no API wrapper for it currently, but I know a skilled programmer who might help me)

Also: I have tried at least 3 unique rips of the game. Its possible they all were not ripped correctly. But I'm hoping thats not the case.

Re: Assault Rigs: no music?

in DOS
The fact does remain that you are using a downloaded version and that there is no guarantee the game was ripped correctly. It cannot be said that "assault rigs will not work with DosBox" until it has actually been tried with a legitimate retail CD. It is quite pointless trying to nail down the …

Re: Assault Rigs: no music?

What exactly are you using to mount the image? I'm not sure what the difference is, exactly, but I think DOSBox only supports CUE/BIN, so trying to mount a CCD/IMG image may not work. You can try using Daemon Tools to mount it within Windows, and then mount Daemon Tools' emulated drive in DOSBox. …

Update: I used ImgBurn to open the ccd/sub/img files and in the log I found this: Session 1... (LBA: 0 / 00:02:00) -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 / 00:02:00) -> Track 02 (Audio, 01:51:71, LBA: 56479 / 12:35:04) -> Track 03 (Audio, 04:28:35, LBA: 64875 / 14:27:00) -> Track 04 (Audio, 04:34:53, LBA: …

Re: Assault Rigs: no music?

It is not possible to store CD-audio tracks in ISO file format. Do you mean that iso file cannot have the music encoded in them? Correct me if I'm wrong: but aren't IMG's the data of CD? If the music was encoded in the CD of the game, why wouldn't the IMG have the music still in it? The sound …
